Of course! HIPAA protects the privacy and confidentiality of medical information when such information is in the hands of an employer group health plan, a health insurance company, a health care provider (hospital, clinic, doctor, etc.) and others that provide services to those covered entities or individuals. HIPAA does not prohibit a federal, state or local agency, or a school, from requesting that an individual provide medical information as a condition to, for example, playing on a girls sports team. If the individual refused to provide that information, they could be refused access to the sports team and there would be no recourse under HIPAA.

I've been labeled a bigot and a "TERF" more times than I can count just because I point out that women are women (duh!) and that women-only spaces should be protected. Stating the obvious has become an act of rebellion.
NO, men who "transition" into womanhood should NOT be allowed in domestic violence shelters, or female prisons, or female locker rooms, or rape-victim safe houses. I can't believe I even have to spell this out!
Liberty allows you to pretend whatever you like about yourself, but not compel others to do so as well. You wanna wear dresses? Fine. Have at it. Knock yourself out. Have fun. But don't tell me that makes you a woman.
You wanna change/adorn/mutilate your body? Fine -- AS LONG AS YOU'RE AN ADULT. Adults should be able to do whatever they want with their bodies. But you don't have the right to mutilate children. You don't have the right to mess with their hormones and use them as experiments for your personal political ideology.
It infuriates me that Democrats and soi-disant liberals (and I'm way more left than they are) have gone along with this nonsense. The fact that the otherwise bonkers Republicans are the ones speaking sense in this regard just proves that even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Parting shot: If Eddie Izzard is a woman, then Rachel Dolezal is black.
